Ever been stuck in one place or one environment for too long and sometimes feel that you are not growing? I know that I have been. This feeling made me want to explore new opportunities in life and find ways to make myself feel that I was worth more than where I was. I started wandering and trying to find greener postures. This never meant that I was lost or did not know what I wanted in life. It actually meant the opposite, that where I was, was actually not where I wanted to be.
In the corporate arena, one might job hop – wander. Most of the time this doesn’t not come across as a good thing when your potential employer looks at your track record, thus they think negatively thereof. They might think that you are lost. They never consider the fact that you are looking for your niche and that you are working towards what you want. Wandering does not always mean that one is lost. If one has an objective and goal as why they are wandering, then they are actually going in the right direction.
